On May 30th, 2013, at the Manitoba Museum, proud new Canadians from 17 different countries took their Oath of Citizenship. RBC sponsored the event and provided many round table volunteers. Immigrant Centre coordinated the day and provided volunteer round table hosts, greeters and story gatherers. The Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) led the round table discussions about the importance of citizenship and provided every new Citizen with a Cultural Access Pass. After a catered lunch CIC held the Citizenship Ceremony. A steady stream of donuts, cookies and coffee were provided by Tim Hortons. The new Citizens have memories of a day they will never forget and everyone involved in helping the day to run so smoothly was moved and inspired and asked to take part again next year!
