Hi, everyone, my name is Max. I am a volunteer in Immigrant Centre. This is my aunt’s friend’s story. I interviewed with her on Skype. Her name is Angelia. She came to Canada in 2002. She brought her son and then her husband came to Canada, her husband immigrated to Canada as a technology professional. Her husband was a manager in a big company, after he came to here; he worked as a security guard in the evening.
Angelia was a nurse, thus she really wanted to become a nurse in Canada again. She could study daytime and her husband could take care of their son in daytime. That was why her husband found the job in evening. She studied for two years. Every day she spent more than 3 hours commuting. She lost 30 pounds after two years and miscarried her second child. This was the reason she did not finish her degree.
Even though she felt life was not very fair to her, finally she could work as a nurse in the hospital. Her experience led her to an opportunity to work as a nurse in Canada. She worked very hard and her boss really liked her. After she worked more than 5 years, she got the opportunity to change from part time nurse to full time nurse in hospital. There were a lot of part time nurses in the hospital who had worked longer than Angelia, that made her feel more confidence and happy. Right now she loves her job and her families’ life in Canada.
