Workplace Entry Program
The Workplace Entry Program is a pre-employability skills program funded by Service Canada. Its aim is to educate and assist young newcomers between the ages of 16 and 30 with benchmarks levels of 3-4 in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Over the course of five weeks, the WEP students learn about Canadian workplace expectations, safety, and legal rights. These fundamental topics among others help the participants find and retain jobs in Manitoba.
The WEP students graduate from the Workplace Entry Program with confidence and an optimistic outlook in finding employment. WEP students have found employment in food services, security, retail and manufacturing occupations. They feel better prepared to find employment and continue their EAL studies. WEP client feedback continues to be positive and inspiring.
