The beginning of January is a common time for Canadians to make a resolution to eat more healthily throughout the year. One new Winnipegger got a head start in 2014 by taking part in Immigrant Centre’s  Cooking Matters course. Winnipeg Free Press journalist Geoff Kirbyson met up with Nutrition Manager Val Broeska and client Avoola Sabitu over to find out more about the benefits of taking this course and why Avoola Sabitu “would like to see the Immigrant Centre’s nutrition programming become mandatory for at least one member of each new family to Winnipeg.”
