- Canadian Council for Refugees: A non-profit umbrella organization focused on the protection and settlement of refugees in Canada.
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada: The Government of Canada’s online immigration portal with information on moving to Canada, applying for citizenship and multiculturalism. If you have questions call their Help Centre at 1-888-242-2100 (only from within Canada).
- Information and Communication Technology Council (ICTC): Through trusted research, innovative talent solutions, and practical policy advice, ICTC fosters innovative and globally competitive Canadian industries empowered by a talented and diverse digital workforce.
- Institute for Canadian Citizenship: A national, non-profit organization focused on helping new citizens by connecting them with established citizens and promoting Canadian experiences.
- International Experience Canada (IEC): A partnership program with many countries allowing youth to travel to Canada to work, study and explore. French citizens between 18 and 35 can see this program.
- The Maytree Foundation: A Canadian charity focused on reducing poverty in Canada by offering training, networking and other resources.
- Metropolis Canada: An international research and public policy network focused on immigrant integration in Canada with several provincial divisions.
- Planning for Canada: A free pre-arrival service for Economic or Family Class immigrants that provides information, resources, and contacts to help Newcomers prepare for life in Canada
- Professional English Group (PEG) Canada: A non-profit organization supporting workplace integration for internationally educated professionals through language and communication training, including the Canadian Culture and Communication for Nurses program online.
- S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Active Engagement and integration Project: An organization that supports the settlement, adaptation and integration of skilled workers, members of the family class, and live-in caregivers from China, South Korea and Taiwan into Canadian Society. The project includes pre-departure services such as group orientation, tailor-made workshops and active engagement case management. Client resources include: a support line, referrals, a resource centre and a virtual resource centre.
- Business Council of Manitoba: A group of professionals in Manitoba focused on the Province’s economic and community growth, including immigration policy.
- Immigrant Centre: A resource and training centre in Winnipeg focused on helping Newcomers integrate within the Province.
- Immigrate to Manitoba: The Government of Manitoba’s official web portal for information about immigrating and settling in the Province
- Legal Aid: An organization that provides legal help to people who are financially eligible.
- Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program: A partnership with the Government of Canada intended to recruit skilled workers to the Province.
- Manitoba Start (Employment Solutions for Immigrants Inc.): An organization that provides initial assessment and referral, employment preparation workshops, career coaching and job matching Newcomers and provide recruitment and resource support for Employers in Manitoba
- MTS: Cell phone, home phone, internet, and TV services specially priced for newcomers
- Positive Parenting Through Community Voices: Positive Parenting as Told Through Cultural Community Voices is an opportunity for new Canadian communities to celebrate the wealth of parenting knowledge and experience they possess through a variety of multi-media products and materials
- Rainbow Resource Centre: A resource centre for the LGBT2SQ+ that runs a Newcomer group offering sexuality education and support
- Society for Manitobans with Disabilities (SMD)-Ethnocultural Program: A program that assists newcomers with disabilities access appropriate services including language training
- A & O Support Services for Older Adult Immigrants: A not-for-profit that delivers a specialized Entry Program and EAL training for older adult Newcomers
- Accueil Francophone: A settlement organization that provides services in French, including general settlement support, homework support, taxation support and information sessions. Also English language support and translation services are available.
- Aurora Family Therapy Centre: A counseling and therapy service for families and individuals (women’s program and men’s program and youth program). They offer family, couple & individual therapy free of charge to Newcomers.
- Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute: A non-profit organization that provides services and support for Muslim Women.
- Enhanced English Skills for Employment (EESE): Services for immigrants with international education and professional experience. Courses to help reduce language and cultural barriers.
- EDGE Skills Centre: Employment training and computer skills training, employment counseling, math support, EAL and literacy training.
- English Online: An online EAL resource and training centre for adult learners and instructors. They also provide pre-arrival online English supports.
- Entry Program (Altered Minds): An orientation program that informs Newcomers about employment services, health services, settlement and English language (EAL). Interpreters are available
- Family Dynamics: A non-profit that provides family supports for Refugees which includes counseling, assessment, goal setting, and advocacy
- Heartland International English School: A Second Language (ESL) school that offers programs for international learners from beginner to advanced levels.
- House of Peace: A safe home, counselling and support to women in transition. Also provides space to ethno-cultural communities for gatherings.
- Immigration Partnership Winnipeg: Is the Local Immigration Partnership that is responsible for engaging stakeholders, identifying needs and priorities, and areas for action to support settlement and integration of Newcomers in Winnipeg.
- Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba (IRCOM): A non-profit organization that operates a transitional housing complex in downtown Winnipeg and provides onsite supports and services for its residents and the broader Newcomer community
- Islamic Social Service Association: An association that provides family health and social welfare services, inclusive of the many cultural and ethnic groups that comprise the Winnipeg Muslim community. They also provide direct services and supports by collaborating and integrating into main stream health and social services.
- Jewish Child and Family Service: An organization that provides an array of services for for Winnipeg’s Jewish community including settlement services for Jewish Newcomers which includes assessment, employment and counseling
- Legal Help Centre: A non-profit organization that provides legal information, resources and referrals
- Louis Riel School Division: The Rene Delerume Centre within the Louis Riel School Division offers a Newcomer Reception Centre, orientation for families and EAL programming for students
- Manitoba School Improvement Project: A non-profit organization that promotes educational equity and social justice by collaborating with public secondary schools to build their capacity to improve student learning and engagement. They offer support for Newcomer youth (literacy, tutoring, recreation) at Gordon Bell and Hugh John Macdonald
- MFL Occupational Health Centre Inc.: A community health centre that helps workers, employers, and joint health and safety committees to improve workplace health and safety conditions and eliminate hazards. They provide training, resources in multiple languages and counseling for injured workers.
- Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology (MITT): MITT’s English Language Center offers EAL training (only by referral through WELRAC).
- MOSAIC Newcomer Family Resource Centre: A non-profit resource centre that provides parenting classes, EAL classes and family literacy with childcare offered out of four locations (Fort Richmond, Fort Garry, River Heights, Downtown).
- Mount Carmel Clinic-Multicultural Wellness Program: A health centre that provides health services, counselling and support for Newcomers
- Newcomers Employment & Education Development Services Inc. (NEEDS): A non-profit organization that provides programming for war-affected youth including: computer lab, homework support, recreation programming and employment support
- New Directions-Project Oasis: A program for youth Newcomers who are involved in the justice system. The program includes employment training, literacy and math, work placement and follow-up support
- New Journey Housing: A housing resource centre for Newcomers that includes workshops, counselling, advice and support
- Neighbourhood Immigrant Settlement Workers Program: A program that provides settlement information and orientation to Newcomers, connect Newcomers with programs and services, host special events for Newcomers to meet their neighbours and promote public awareness about Newcomer issues at nine locations around Winnipeg.
- NorWest Co-op Community Health-Immigrant Women’s Counselling Services: A counselling services for Newcomer women that helps to address violence, trauma, healthy relationships, parenting, and self-esteem.
- The Pembina Trails School Division: A school division that has a Divisional Settlement Worker that supports Newcomers as they transition into the Pembina Trails community.
- Pluri-Elles: A non-profit organization that provides French counselling and employment support services for women and men.
- Red River College: The Language Training Centre is an intensive EAL program; flexible start, free for permanent residents. The Diversity and Intercultural Services provides college information, orientation, consultation, mentorship and scholarships for newcomers. They also provide support for internationally trained professionals
- River East Transcona School Division: The school division provides settlement services for students and families and provide adult EAL services for area residents
- Salvation Army Barbara Mitchell Family Resource Centre-LEEP Program: The program provides pre-employment training for Newcomer youth from war-affected countries including trainging for employment, life skills and work placements
- SEED Winnipeg Inc.: A non-profit organization that provides business development support, training, and loans for newcomers in the area of social enterprise, family daycare and women in business. They also provide the coordination of the Asset Builders program, first language Money Management Training, and accessible tax preparation
- Sexuality Education Resource Centre Manitoba (SERC): A resource centre that provides information and resources in multiple languages on reproductive health and provides community education. They also provide ethno-specific workshops on intergenerational conflict.
- Seven Oaks Immigrant Services: A non-profit organization that offers EAL classes, conversation circles, job search support, resume writing support, employment mentorship, cooking classes, and a mens group in the Seven Oaks area of Winnipeg
- Spence Neighbourhood Association Inc.: A community organization that provides a Newcomer Youth Drop-In and Integration Program in Winnipeg’s Spence Neighboorhood.
- Success Skills Centre: An employment support service for Internationally Educated Professional Newcomers including; jobs searches, mentorship and work placements
- The University of Winnipeg-English for Specific Purposes Program: a Program that provides EAL training geared to the workplace and support for Internationally Educated Professionals
- The University of Winnipeg-Global Welcome Centre: A service that offers support for permanent residents seeking or enrolled in education
- The University of Manitoba-Adult EAL Program for Newcomers: A program that provides Adult EAL classes and support for Internationally Educated Professionals
- Winnipeg English Language Assessment and Referral Centre (WELARC): The English language assessment and referral Centre for Winnipeg. All Newcomers who are permanent residents and want to attend language classes are welcome to visit WELARC.
- Welcome Place (Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council Inc.): A non-profit organization that provides temporary accommodation and assistance with housing search, settlement and life skills to Government Assisted Refugees. They provide services in first language and translation services.
- West Central Women’s Resource Centre: A women’s centre located in the West Central area of Winnipeg that engages Newcomers in the neighbourhood through sewing circles and host a NISW that provides conversation circles, family support and resource referral.
- West End Commons: An affordable housing building available to newcomer families.
- Winnipeg Central Park Women’s Resource Centre: A women’s centre offering multicultural cooking, sewing and craft groups, peer support, conversation circles in the Central Park area
- Winnipeg Child and Family Services: A government department that has a Newcomer specific child protection, counseling and homemaker services
- Winnipeg Public Library: Libraries are located around the Winnipeg and provide online and onsite EAL resources in addition to a wide array of reading and viewing materials for all ages
- Winnipeg School Division: The school division has Cross Cultural Support Workers that support Newcomer children and families. The division also offers EAL for adults
- YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg: A athletic community organization that offers free, four month, recreation facility membership for newcomer families and EAL programming for women
- Asessippi Parkland Settlement Services: A non-profit organization that provides settlement assistance, English classes, orientation, referral to community resources for Newcomers settling in the Russell, Inglis, Angusville, Binscarth, Birtle and surrounding area. - Parkland Regional Settlement Services: An organization that offers free assistance to Newcomers in the communities of Dauphin, Roblin and the surrounding areas who are permanent residents.
- Eastman Immigrant Services: A non-profit organization that assists Newcomers settling in Southeastern Manitoba. Also serving Interlake.
- Neepawa and Area Development Corporation Ltd. Immigrant Settlement Services: A non-profit organization that provides assistance to Permanent Residents and Refugees in the Neepawa Area
- Portage Learning and Literacy Centre Inc.-Newcomer’s Welcome Centre: A non-profit organization that provides the residents of Portage la Prairie and surrounding areas with opportunities to realize individual, literacy, educational, employment, and life goals
- Regional Connections: A one-stop-shop that provides services, resources, and referrals for Newcomers living in South Central Manitoba.
- Roblin-Cartwright Community Development Corporation Settlement Services (CKB Settlement Services): A non-profit organization that provides assistance for people learning to live in a new country and to help people develop knowledge and skills to settle and adapt into life in rural Manitoba.
- South Eastman English and Literacy Services Inc.: A non-profit organization that helps newcomers settle in Manitoba. Services include: reception and orientation, employment counselling and special events
- Swan Valley Settlement and Immigrant Services Inc.: A non-profit organization that serves the settlement needs of Newcomers to the Swan Valley area. In addition to being a service provider we also liaise with other community groups and organizations to help improve services and information for immigrants and newcomers.
- Thompson Newcomer Settlement Services: A non-profit organization that supports the needs (initial settlement and long-term integration) of permanent resident to Thompson.
- Virden and District Settlement Services: A non-profit organization that provide Newcomers living in Virden and the surround area with learning to live in a new country or area of the country.
- Westman Immigrant Services: A non-profit organization that provides settlement, employment and language programs and services to immigrants in Brandon and the Westman area. In addition to being a service provider, we liaise with community groups and organizations to work towards building capacity in our community for improving services to immigrants and refugees.
